A few additional terms to know-

Bands: These are metallic rings placed for more support from teeth.

Buttons: These are round attachments, can be of metallic or tooth coloured.

Spring: Placed in the wire between certain teeth.

Loop: Part of wire bent into a certain shape.

Power Chain: Elastic chains applied between a number of teeth.

Mini-implant: Small implants placed for the duration of treatment for additional support, to avoid undesirable effects on other teeth.

Elastics: Removable rings given to apply in a certain way.
